four weeks of unemployment (yowp!) spent splendidly indeed... first, the aforementioned 'resident evil' party... having walked most of the way to temple meads to meet jen, quite fucked and with bilbo skittering alongside on the end of his lead, i got bitten pretty early on so abi shot me, allowing me to stop being quite so terrified of the zombies, who were many and brilliant! next day: up to manchester for my bloody valentine, the most viscerally nourishing performance i've probably ever witnessed, beautiful visuals, all the 'favourites', with the added factor of it being something i never thought i'd ever get to see; i emerged utterly shaking and speechless :D sunday was a five-hour war hell ride back from liverpool for jonathan's antifolk all-dayer, a fucking triumph if ever there was one, this is what we looked like on that day:

a brief stopover in birmingham mid-week to see 'the street cleaner' (the play i did the music for), amazing play, very surreal to hear my stupid music on the big speakers, followed by a piss-up with the actors (get me!). the following weekend, cat and steve's wedding in a very small village in devon, the reception was at a massive stately home, jen had to seek sanctuary on a four-poster bed and too much champagne on my part led to a traditionally dramatic conclusion to the evening...

then... WATTSFEST! featuring but not limited to: my first lsd adventure, rick leach, the moulettes (my new favourite band ever) and a lift to exeter in the back of a post office van. then spent about a fortnight in exeter (punctuated only by a quick trip home for a job interview) tidying, cleaning and decorating jen's house for the purpose of deposit recovery, plus we watched practically the entire career of derren brown, and i got the job, meaning india and post-india dosh = sorted! then a weekend in birmingham, where for a short time we looked like this:
